Obedience > Strategy

O

Jesus never asked his disciples to do the strategic thing; he asked them to do the obedient.

Strategy listens to what the experts say; obedience listens to what the Master says. Strategy is fueled by our creativity; obedience is fueled by the Creator. Strategy does what makes sense; obedience does what is right. Strategy mitigates risk; obedience trusts through risk.

Discipleship isn’t a matter of strategy; it’s a matter of obedience.

Ministry doesn’t hinge on strategy; it hinges on obedience.
