According to Jesus. And the payoff? They will see God. Everywhere. All the time. Not just in sacred places–but everywhere. Not one day–but today. Not just when they’re looking for him–but even when they least expect it. The pure in heart will live in perpetual surprise at the presence of God.
What then will the crooked-hearted see? Well, certainly not God. Anything but God. They will simply miss him. Even though he is everywhere, all the time. Even though he is just as near to them as he is to the pure-hearted. They will live in perpetual disillusionment because they have simply closed their eyes to divine surprise.
