Is not like bland bread and water.
It’s like a juicy slice of watermelon on a hot summer day.
It’s like a cold glass of lemonade after you’ve been out mowing the grass and pulling weeds.
It’s like an aromatic bowl of soup on a cold winter night.
It’s like a good burger and fries around a table full of friends and laughter.
It’s like a warm cup of coffee on the porch as the sun rises above the trees.
It’s like pizza at a sleepover when you were 12 years old.
Whatever it is that God desires is what will sustain you. In a deep and real way. God’s will is not burdensome. It will make you feel truly alive. The God of the Bible is a God who desires, and what he desires is always good, always rooted in love, always generates life and beauty.
If you feel yourself growing weary, depleted, out of steam—ask him what he wants. And then engage with that however you can, however small it may seem.
