Complaining is a fire that burns you from the outside in. It harms not only you, but others around you.
Complaining is not merely a you problem; it’s a we problem. It brings your inner dissatisfaction out into the open. When that flame is set loose, it can become a wildfire. The more public the complaining, the wider the fire spreads. The louder the complaining, the stronger the winds blow.
Dissatisfaction is a normal human feeling. Acceptable, even. But complaining is a choice.
Now, you can pretend that that the dissatisfaction isn’t there, but you probably shouldn’t. Bottling it up is dangerous. The pressure will build until it explodes. Trust me—I’ve tried. Would not recommend.
Rather, for your own sake, and in the interest of public safety, find someone who can listen to you, and possibly help affect real change, without being kindling.
