That inspires, empowers, or encourages someone else to do something.
Just a small, simple, influential action that results in more. A catalytic something that sets off a chain reaction.
No grand plan. No strategic process. No fully-developed vision.
Those can all be great. And after doing your many somethings that result in more people doing their somethings, maybe a big-picture will begin to take shape on its own.
But maybe it all boils down to just doing one thing.
It can be a simple one thing: Writing an email. Giving a presentation. Cleaning the glass of the front doors. Giving a high-five to celebrate a win. Sending a check-in text on an important day in someone’s personal life. Buying someone’s dinner. Presenting a clear report. Sharing a newly written song. Listening carefully. Passing on a helpful podcast. Handing off a responsibility. Designing something beautiful. Naming the gifts you see in someone. Saying, “Thank you.”
Consider doing something. And ask yourself, “Might this be inspiring? Could this empower someone? Will this bring encouragement?”
If the answer is YES to any of those, do it. With all your heart. The best you possibly can.
And then get set to do do the next something.
