Leadership is one great exercise in knowing when to get out of the way.
Out of the way of others on your team.
Out of the way of the bigger mission.
Out of the way of yourself.
Out of the way of the Spirit.
Know what it is you’re supposed to do. Do it with all your heart, as faithfully and as excellently as you can — and then be aware enough to know when you’re done. When it’s time to take your hands off. When it’s time to be silent. When it’s time to step off of the field and into the bleachers.
Watch what great things happen in part because of you, but also in large part without you.
