Don’t Touch The Stove

D

Is great advice for a four year old. But not for a fourteen year old.

By that age a child needs to learn how to use the stove to cook some eggs, or warm up a tortilla, or boil a pot of noodles. There are, of course, right ways and wrong ways to touch a stove.

So it is with spirituality.

Mature spirituality is a steady progression from living a life ruled by Don’ts to a life ruled by Do’s. From warnings to tutorials. From “Watch out for danger!” to “Open your eyes to possibility!” From playing it safe to the finer nuances of creative living.
