Find someone who has been with God. Someone who is radiant because they have spoken with the Lord. Someone with that glory-kissed glow. That aura that comes from face time with the divine, like someone who has spent the afternoon in the summer sun.
They will be mostly unaware of it themselves. In fact, if they’re overly aware of it, if they talk a bit too much about their special intimacy with God, they may not be who you’re looking for. Smile and keep moving.
But those you are looking for—if they happen to be aware, they probably try to cover it up. They don’t wear their close relationship with God on their sleeve, but under a veil.
But you can tell. Others can tell. They emit warmth and love. They have a peaceful, centered air about them, even as they go about their normal life. Grounded, yet light. They live in the ordinary world with an uncommon sacredness.
Find that person. Make excuses to spend time with them. Accept their invitations to come around. Receive what ever gifts of God they may carry in their humble hands.
(See Exodus 34:29-35.)
