If You Have Something To Say

I

Just say it.

Say it at the right time.

Say it in the right medium.

Say it to the right people.

Say it within the right time frame. Not everything needs to be a novel. It might need to be an essay, or a blog post, or a tweet, or a bumper sticker. Know the difference.

Probably no one is asking. And perhaps no one will listen. That’s just God-honest reality. No matter. Resolve at the outset to be brave and un-disappointed. Speak the truth in love (to borrow a phrase from the Apostle Paul)–love for yourself, love for others, love for God, love for whatever–and perhaps you will find some welcoming ears.

Even if it doesn’t, at least you will have kept your blood flowing.

I'm a husband-father-musician-pastor trying to make a decent contribution to the world. California is the Motherland, North Carolina has my heart, Georgia is Home. These are mostly my riffs on formation, leadership, and being fully human.
