It’s OK If You Don’t Believe Jesus Right Now

I

He’s not angry. He’s not offended. He’s not sad. He’s not disappointed. Frankly, he’s not even surprised.

He won’t scold you. He won’t give you the cold shoulder. He won’t play hard to get. He won’t write you off. He won’t report you to the local Faithfulness Police.

Jesus taught that true faith is like a seed: All it really needs is to hide in the darkness of some decent soil for a while. Then, eventually, something living will sprout up into the sunlight. It’s OK for your faith to sometimes be hidden in darkness.

In the meantime, he’s still quite committed to his invitation for you to follow him. Disbelief and darkness and all.

Just keep following him. Eventually everything that really needs to be believed will be brought out into the light.
