Is discipleship 101. Sitting down with whoever it is you are following, whoever it is you want to learn from, whoever it is you are seeking to emulate. When they sit, you sit.
Sitting centers you in this exact location. You are nowhere else in the world, with no one else in the world.
Sitting centers you in the moment. Discipleship does not happen in the past, nor in the future, but only in the present.
Sitting slows you down. It ceases movement. All the other places to go, and people to see, and things to do can wait.
Discipleship to Jesus is being with Jesus, not just being busy for Jesus. We must always start—and end—with locating ourselves with him, in this place, in this present moment, still and unbusy.
