When Change Happens Suddenly

W

We either fight it or universalize it.

We all have a dream of a future that involves someone or something or some place. In our shock we refuse to believe that the picture might not include A, B, or C after all. So we grip tighter. In vain, we leverage all of our energy towards forcing that future to still somehow exist.

Change sometimes happens with little notice. Can we hold our dreams loosely enough to accept alterations?

An alternate temptation is to assume that just because A is gone that B and C must be foregone conclusions. The particular loss becomes a universal loss. One thing dies and so we burn everything down.

Change sometimes happens with little notice. Can we  calm down enough to enjoy the gifts we still hold?
