So don’t even try. What we need are more Christians—visible leaders or otherwise—who are content to whisper. Who have earned the honor of being listened to by sowing years and years of steady faithfulness and trustworthiness.
Let the culture be as loud as it wants to be. Let those who follow Christ speak in humble tones. As he himself said, it is the meek—those who feel no need to assert their will by the sheer volume of their voices—who shall inherit the earth.
In such historically noisy times, perhaps the most counter-cultural voices are quiet the ones.
